Aitkenvale Auto & Dyno Profile

Aitkenvale Auto & Dyno operates from a 800m2 workshop in the Townsville suburb of Aitkenvale. The premises contains 6 hoists, a 2WD chassis dynamometer, a engine build clean room, airconditioned reception & display area.

The proprietor, Ian Richards, started his trade at a Melbourne Holden dealership in 1979. For several years in the mid 80's, Ian worked for Bill Santuccione, an ex Ford race team engineer ( Moffat & GTHO's) at Special Vehicles Engineering in Prahran & St Kilda. SVE's specialities included turbocharging, tuning, custom fabrication, engine building & blueprinting etc. From the early 90's, Ian worked at API engines;- a Japanese engine importer, then his own business still in Melbourne, before heading north & working/managing 2 workshops before the inception of Aitkenvale Auto & Dyno in 2002.
